Demand Deposit Accounts
- The minimum amount required to open an account is $1000. This balance is required to be maintained at all time and a US $25 charge is applicable if the balance falls below US $1,000.
- There is a monthly Account Maintenance fee of US$10.00 payable annually
- Checks cannot be drawn on this account
Savings Accounts
- The minimum required to open a savings account is $1000. Interest of 3% per annum is earned on $500 and above and is paid on a quarterly basis.
- Account must be opened for personal use only.
Ways to access your funds:
- Transfer money to your Atlantic Bank US Dollar accounts from any bank in the world
- Transfer money from Atlantic Bank US Dollar account to any bank in the world. Cost of wire transfers to the United States is US$70.00, Outside the United States is US$80.00
- Cash withdrawals are subjected to a handling fee of 2% of amount being withdrawn or a minimum of US$30.00 (in compliance with Money Laundering Policies)
- Make internal transfers from your US Dollar account to your Belize Dollar Account at a rate of BZD$2 to USD$1. Fee is US$10.0
Additional information:
- Requests for a bank draft or cashiers check (cost US$20.00)
- Wire transfers, checks, travelers checks, and US cash may fund these US Dollar accounts. Credit Card slips may not be deposited into a US Dollar account (subject to approval).
Special Requirements:
To access your US Dollar account funds, customer must present a Foreign Exchange Permit from the Central Bank of Belize.
